Trigun: Deep Space Planet Future Gun Action!! Vol. 2 | Book Wayfarer

An unknown adversary is at a shoe shop looking for a particular pair as Meryl and Millie sit on a bench enjoying the day. Vash is outside on a bench thinking of Rem, and is interrupted by some kids throwing a basketball in his face, he declaring he's a contender at dodgeball, then gets them ice cream. Vash includes a kid no one notices, then the adversary brushes by Vash and states of finally finding him, looking nonchalant and ice about it. Vash kindly asks his name and he IDs himself as Legato, the servant of Knives, Vash getting serious and demanding to know where he is, since Vash'd vendetta on this fool for killing Rem.

Legato states he waited and is healing, Legato then threatening a kid before stating he's only there as a messenger this time, he showing Vash a case of a dozen coins split in half. 12 assassins were going to show up to kill Vash and each carried half a coin, and whoever collects them all'd witness something quite intriguing. Before Legato leaves, he also leaves the shoemaker's head, which his wife bursts in tears with despair as she comes into the courtyard crying over her hubby's head missing. Meanwhile, inside a leaky building as it rains outside, an unknown peep cats of being stuck in the cellar for 2 decades and wants whoever's "master" to do everything "to repay him". A recap of Legato hoping the dozen assassin give Vash hell is given, which explains the former, of who shall be repaid?

Anyways, Meryl is fighting for Vash's innocence despite he being at the right place at the right time for being the culprit. Vash is thinking of catching up to Knives, vowing he wouldn't escape him. Then a flashback of Vash visiting Rem, everyone else asleep. Outside on the side of the ship, Rem supplies the name Project "Seeds" to Vash's q.

The ship carries genes to an unknown world, and they're the caretakers. All the genes must be watched over til dealing with their new world troubles. When Vash asks if this makes Rem sad, she replies Vash and Knives kept her happy. She loved Earth, but when the people she cared for died, she left, and when Rem died, Vash had plenty of time to process it.

At 1 point, the ship's going to crash due to a malfunction, 400k people killed with them, so she asks for Alex's strength before urging Vash and Knives to leave her, sacrificing herself, Vash watching the ship explode from his escape pod with Knives. Vash is surprised when Knives bursts out laughing and mocking how stupid humans were, and being glad they're dead. Vash realizes what Knives'd done, he readily admitting it,and states he'd spared the plant ship. Vash goes mad, and then back in real time, states of being ready to end this.

Meryl and Millie see Vash behind bars acting pleasant, and states they shouldn't worry about trying to collect him next day. Later, Vash yells at the officer to get down as a shady-hatted figure comes in. All hell ensues, and he IDs himself as Monev the Gale, and is happy to have Vash already trapped for him. Vash has Millie and Meryl go outside, but then Meryl comes back aiming a gun, but Vash makes his move before she can get involved, Vash naming Monev as actually Diablo.

Vash loses Diablo as he uses his arm to create more explosions, Vash yelling at people to find cover. He goes forward, gun blazing, and catching Diablo to the point of his wondering how Vash's arm could be so direct at targeting his head with a few shots. Vash and Knives argue, as Knives isn't worried by being called a killer, humans destroying their own planet, afterall. Vash is lashing out, still hurt by Rem's death as Knives soberly tells him to calm, when the plant ship's manual overdrive changes their destination, Knives admitting he'd been bested by her.

At Planet Bank, Vash enters and demands the safe be opened, whilst outside, Diablo calling his plan of using it as a shield. Inside, Vash is hoping, then yells for Diablo to come for him, he obliging. He bursts in with why he's called Monev blah blah Gale, and opens a bunch of fire on him behind the safe. Vash remains unharmed, and overpowers the dummy, sticking his gun in Diablo's face.

Diablo's now pleading to live, and Vash struggles with the idea of permanently losing Rem for this, Vash squatting over him. A couple days pass, and Meryl considers how Vash's rep is easy to forget when one's around him, but also wonders how so much trouble follows him. Back to Vash over Diablo as he qs him on where his boss is, Diablo admitting he'd been purchased by a man he thought was his pop, and is only an agent, warning Vash of his men locating him, being pro assassin's. So, Vash leaves him there, no longer threatened by Diablo.

Back with Millie and Meryl, they're wondering about the details behind the story as the menfolk of the law chat of making Vash leave. The 2 go upstairs and see Vash without his shirt on, the scars ragged and many. Meryl mentions how this must be the cost of allowing his enemies to survive, but Vash brushes this off, so Meryl states how this guy, Diablo is stalking him despite not being an outlaw, anymore. Mer further inquires why he can't live peacefully somewhere, Vash confessing his inability to help "the most important person" made a quiet life impossible.

Vash leaves the town respectfully, but the man who receives it only urges him on as he then sees Mer follow, due to it being her work migrating. After walking for sometime through the desert, Vash further ahead yells they stop, he seeing Diab. hung on a cross. A fella walks up in a spiked codpiece around his head to waist, IDing as E.G. Mine, Vash only wanting to know if he'd put Diablo there. E.G. admits it, and Vash'd walked into his territory, giving him the ultimatum of having to kill or be killed.

E.G. makes his 1st lunge and misses Vash, continuing to do so til Vash puts fool down and calls out for Legato. When he sees him, he makes clear from here on, he'd be coming after Legato. At Jeneora Rock, the halfway point to Augusta City, sometime visitors arrive, Diab., possibly sitting in a diner when some large D-heads come in with a girl chained by the neck and hands, ad calling for booze. They're the Roderick Slave Traffickers, this rankling Diab., quietly.

The girl stares at his pretty boy features, which has 1 of the men clock her, bringing their attn to his prettiness, and trying to get a rise out of him. Diab. remains calm as he asks for the check and talks big game of why this fool wants to rush his decimating mankind. When the big guy plays dumb, Diab. has him kill himself just by command. The fool proceeds to tear his own heart out his chest.

This guy has only the RST kill themselves, and afterward, he talks to himself of how annoying Vash's reality is. As Vash, Mil, and Mer travel by bus through the desert, having left May City, Vash's been seeming odd. They are heading to Augusta, and 1 of em hopes for tea. Vash's deep in thought regarding Diab's eyes being a bottomless pit of no honesty.

Outside the bus the people see a startling sight of a man sitting next to a fallen cross. When 1 man comes out to see if he is dead, the man exclaims of being saved, and can't leave his work with his broken down bike, declaring his priesthood. When he boards the bus, he recognizes Vash when Mil points him out, he having spotted him miles before getting close. Finally he intros himself to Vash as Wolfwood.

Meanwhile, the leftovers of the RST are wanting to get on the scent of Diab, who happens to walk in on them. When he gives the ultimatum to go home or die, they mock him. So, before Diab. kills them, he talks like he's relenting to someone unseen, so instead, allows only half to be kilt. Men start squirting blood, then segues to Vash chatting with Wolfwood about his church also caring for orphans so he had to try peddle shit like the cross and portable confessional.

2 poor kids walk up and Wolfwood gives them the last 2 out of 3 coins he had on him. Back with Legato, he's met up with the assassins after stating to the survivors of being spared solely to aid carrying the bodies. After all 7 of the assassins are intro'd, Legato regards Chapel's absence, and then continues on their hit not being there yet, either. As Vash recognizes how stealth Legato is, Wolfwood notices as well, and makes light of how Vash's the most dangerous fella, yet he's warning him to stay away from the less dangerous, Diab.

They then reach Jeneora Rock, which's surprisingly still. Wolfwood prepares to leave with his huge cross, then Vash notices something odd, and dashes off. He's in shock as he's overlooking the damage Legato caused, a black jagged hole spread below him. Vash states to himself how Legato must still be around, and then appears, snottily declaring how he could've killed him 3x by now.

Vash asks for her ID in wonderment, Dominique the Cyclops introing herself, and shares how the decimation Vash sees is from the remainders of the RST's. This still upsets Vash, who then states he could've bongoed her boobs 5x as they chatted, then asks if she'd be leading him to Legato. Dom opens fire, and Vash's confident he'd got her pointblank in his sights. Meanwhile with Wolfwood, he hears gunshots, then states how obv it'd be for a church's followers to dwindle when thinking how far up they needed to trek.

When Wolfwood finally gets into the entrance, a man runs at him. Back with an upside down Vash, he asks how she'd done what she did. Instead of sharing, she merely baits him to try shooting her. Vash attempts to vigilantly watch when she plans to move, he becoming more perplexed by how he can't follow her. Eventually he comes to a realization, and she mocks him, then is shocked. Vash jumps up and shoots.

Wolfwood is inside the church still, Legato q'ing whether he's Chapel, the Skull. Back with Vash and Dom, she's asking how he'd gotten out of her hypnosis, when he deduces it, his cut finger being his help. So, since the fool knew she'd be dead when Legato learned of her failure, she chucks herself off the high ledge. Legato states how Dom's time is up, after learning her fate.

Legato states he is simply corralling Vash, then intros a doc who (uncannily looks like Patrick Stewart!) tells of reviving Knives body. He goes on to suggest they use the plant to aid his resurrection. Then, everyone's warned to beware and be ready for Vash. Wolfwood is struggling spiritually with his mission, and if he ran, he'd be gobbled up.

Then, Vash busts in on the cocooned Knives, and a 1-sided fight occurs. Meanwhile, Mer and Mil are holding Vash back as he warns they should escape now, for the coming explosion, he then leaving them. Vash bursts in next to where Knives is bottled, he calling him out on how everything's as it'd been 150 yrs ago, this leading to Wolfwood q'ing their humanity. Knives comes out of his pickling and starts threatening Vash, and using the hefty power which's the same they share, and he'd use to destroy "July".

Knives then urges Vash use the power and his gun to destroy humans with him, instead, he surprising Knives. When he gets thrown away from Knives, he wonders to Rem whether they should've ever been created. Wolfwood sees the moon do a weird contracting, Mil and Mer standing over the barren land as Mer states how Vash's past couple yrs whereabouts having been buried.

Bonus Tracks - Narrator, in rhyme gives a glimpse of a young Vash not intro'd before. This Vash gets up before most normal citizens, and practices gun target and calisthenics before going to work under an alias, John P. Smith. As Vash socializes with the townspeople, a bike almost knocks some kids down, and later at a bar, Vash and the same guy, Sonic Sodom are there, and Vash overhears fool say how much more dangerous he is then Vash. When his lady mentions how scary it sounds when they hear the radio coverage, the proprietress attempts to ask Sodom to leave, he getting uppity and Vash chucking a well-placed, liquor bot on the fool's head, everyone else a-ok.

Vash receives a new status of "Localized Disaster" as a town considers how to end a robbery without harming anyone, esp this 1 rich guy's daugh. being held hostage, the sheriff soon taking issue with the man's demands. Then they watch as Vash dances his way into the building with robbers, despite warning shots. Then he gets guns aimed all around him up close, Vash shrieking in fear, they tying him up, and taking his gun, writing him off as an idiot. When Vash gets the chance to chat to the rich foo's daugh, she states of her pop able to get money to get them out of there, since the robbers had no other reason to hold up the dive bar.

The robbers soon hear over the radio of Vash coming to town, which has 1 robber think they'll hire him to stop them, but the leader shuts this down. Then, as the robbers are actually given their demands, when 1 of them checks the vehicle provided, is just able to shout of sabotage before it explodes. After it dies down, Vash makes sure the daugh. of rich dude is alright, then is made by the robbers, he stating he's a proponent for peace and love. As a couple of the slower robbers decide to kill Vash, since he isn't being protected like the hostage, Vash defends himself against their stupidity to try something on him.

The main robber shares why he is butthurt having to do with the daugh's pop deciding to take over the land which's now a graveyard 15 yrs ago, and killed everyone, which the daugh denies. This doesn't stop him from using her as a shield to lure the pop out and handle this, when they face off, and Vash instructs the daugh. to watch, since her life had been built off this history her pop started. When he's shot, Vash is in tears for not enjoying seeing a death happen in front of him, the mayor now getting a selfish gleam in his eye. So, he starts threatening Vash to lower his gun, and Vash asks how it felt to kill the helpless.

The mayor likens it to burning the trash, so Vash lets him have it, then points his gun in the mayor's face, declaring he wouldn't murder him, and to repeat after him, love and peace. This is when Vash becomes synonymous with reckless, and not long after, is recognized worldwide as humankind's 1st localized disaster.
