Tales of the Jackalope #6
By Robert L. Crabb

Suicide and Jr. are fishing, and as Jr sings, annoying Suicide, who is silently annoyed, them fishies start jumping, 1 going right into Jr's mouth. After Suicide helps him extricate big fish in maw, a sea creature be-tentacled, gets Suicide wrapped up, until its eaten by a large shark-looking creature. The duo now afraid the shark creature was after them, it seeming confused, and Suicide rowing them straight up a tree. A forest fella shares of the creature being a Moby trout, and advises they leave for Canada.
The fella relates losing his leg to it, and wants to claim his 'white whale', it also having taken his medical beeper, he being a doc. As he's on the pond, he hears his beeper and Moby blasts out of the water, munching part of the doc's boat. The duo consider how they'll stop the group trying to decimate the forest, Jr thinking they'll track them down, then report them to the forest Rangers, and they'll be rewarded. So, they start following the trail Doc'd instructed them to locate, and as they're going, Suicide meets a leaf dealer, this being just the stuff to give him the energy to continue forward.
When Jr is met by Suicide, since they'd been separated for Jr walking faster, he brings him back to intro Shakey the owl, it coming out Shakey's become a dealer of poisoned leaves, and Suicide was being primed for his dinner, since all the animals got sick off them, like Shakey was, and had left. Jr deduces this all pointing to the Columbian drug cartel, they then locating the chopped up forest, all stumps, now. As Suicide becomes sick, Smoky the bear gives poor Suicide some clean water before saying he's giving up and leaving, giving the impression he's bringing the war to the enemy. Depressingly weaker. I get the need for referencing the writer's truth, and wanting to inform, but it lost entertainment value, for sure. 1 more to go!
