Fortunately, there's a preface of #2, so what I missed was, after the Moores are gifted the pencil, Anders locates the Book w/o Words and learns the secret of his talented fam, which would be catastrophic and unchangeable, it regarding his pop, Homer, not actually being Anders' blood, his real pop, Matthew, and his ma, a fairy princess, Manon being learned. Max reunites with Bramble, Sig has a weird experience with a duck and "proctology tongs", a blind, nuts man gets a bit nuttier, and the Moores nearly get decimated by the GM. A sorcerer is concocting a magic recipe, then a duck talking is shown, he looking Orthodox, Sig asking where Anders was, then addressing Max, and upon stepping into the hall, sees the Book w/o Words, left on the floor, and upon seeing Anders in the room right next to where the book'd been left, notes his hairstyle change. Background on Max is provided regarding how he'd seen the switch to novels being outlawed when he was younger, he collecting, to the point of having a huge store of books, and in less than a year, it being the last in the city.

It was protected behind a secret entrance, and another inside only being viewed by Max, til he'd brought Bramble. In this room was a single toy, the room a 2nd shop solely for this piece, it being constructed when the GM became an issue, and the toy was meant to fight them, Max now too old and big to fit inside, he now requiring a kid to operate it (Like Karakuri Circus, the anime, a little). Meanwhile, back with Anders, he was being q'd as to why he'd chopped off his locks, it being after he'd gone to the TwoPenny Inn, he focusing on his quest to locate Homer, they then seeing multiple short, hairy men run past, speculating what they could've been, 1 of the hairy men revealing, as they return, of 1 of the Moores having created the nameless creatures before being wiped out. Anders makes a great joke by suggesting they call themselves S'Mores (haha!), the last Moores thinking this a grand option, and Sig and Anders getting good entertainment as he calls them to him.

Meanwhile, at a tavern, 3 men are the epitome of hear, seeing, and speaking no evil ordering drinks, the 1 with his mouth sewn up snorting his, whilst the 1 who couldn't see, asks for his drink, even though it had been served to him already. Sig and Anders are walking and chatting, getting beers as Anders shares how he'd created some clothes from a mantle, they then being interrupted due to its story quality, the 3 men, probably the GM, are considering how they'd been searching for the wrong person, and actually sought Manon's son, they interrupted by a big fella, who chucks out 2 of the 3, Max then turning up, and introing the big man as his son, Brundage, Anders believing this bode ill, but the bartender agreeing everything was much better, TwoPenny Jack replying! And this is the end of Book 1. I admit they're entertaining issues, my only regret is not having them all, but I'm glad for what I've got, although I'm also not going to continue unless it's cheap and easy. So, onward to the next comic!
