Saint for Rent - The Ozymandias Canon

I can't imagine why by this point, readers of the review wouldn't just rather be reading the O.G. recipe. For those who need a recap, perhaps? :D

Saint wanders into the room, but stealth and overhears as Toni is speaking to a huge screen of her mother. She discusses how her OS is being made an offer to be bought by the government, which she knows would be lucrative, but is also aware they'd only use it for the bureaucrats and wouldn't be given equally. Saint makes his presence known when Toni mentions not knowing if it'd be worth still going to uni since she's already a business maven, he thinking she should still do it, and her mother greeting him warmly. Patrick overhears her in the room and goes in to catch up, excited to know she'd called.

Patrick notices the Consultant enter, and goes over to her, Saint finishing their conversation with Toni's mother and then the Consultant introducing herself, Jingtian Demort, Patrick's wife. Toni overhears and Patrick explains how U.S.A.'s military industrial complex pretty much overtakes the world and the Consultant and he were major players in power, Toni losing interest and stating to call her for lunch. On the porch, Patrick asks Saint if he and the Consultant would be able to help him. When Saint speaks with an older Armand inside, he relates how the Consultant was annoying Toni and so left her alone when she yelled at her to leave her alone.

Kitty then pops up out of nowhere looking grimly at Saint, asking where he thought he was going, since he'd agreed to run the inn, she not liking the idea he was expecting her to do the job whilst he was away. Toni asks who Kitty is, since she hadn't learned of Saint and Kitty's agreement. Saint makes clear he was only leaving in order to be trained by the best innkeeper around, so she begrudgingly turns into a cat and stays sat on the floor. Patrick complains of not being asked to come to the Helen hotel, Armand responding indifferently as he shaved since he was the one Saint invited, so Pat becomes a twat, and makes Armand mess up his sideburns so he'd shave his whole head.

On the trip in the time lag area, Saint loses his thoughtfully filled luggage as the Consultant saves him from getting blown away with the bag. They would soon arrive in 1931 to meet the innkeeper, Kanon. As the Consultant intros herself to him, Saint is told by Armand he was planning to go to BioRev to see if they could tell him how he could prevent the stroke which is supposed to end his life. When Saint gets the chance to speak with Kanon he reveals his situation and Kanon offers him to stay temporarily in Mei's room, since she hadn't come back since 1901, traveling abroad having "adventures". Then, she perfect timed a return and is surprised to see Unc Saint cowering in a corner with her mop dogs "attacking" him.

As Mei is changing, Kanon reveals to Saint he'd known Mei was a time traveler for some time and would appreciate if Saint kept it to himself for now, which he agrees to, in awe. After this, Saint and Mei go shopping as he's wearing one of Armand's old suits which had been left in Mei's closet. They're eventually interrupted by Mei's mother, Mei pretending to be her own daughter instead of telling the truth. When Mei's mother finally figures it out, big drama happens and Mei's father, Kanon chat about how she may or may not change history by telling him or having come to the Helen of her own reasoning, he not tipping the scale by sharing.

After this, Saint comes in and shares how he'd most likely be returning to the Cloverhouse, since his inn seemed quite similar for eventfulness. Then Kanon has a chat with a powerful elder man, Mr. Halliday, who convinces him to stay at the Helen before it is closed in the next handful of years, and if he confided where Casimir was, he'd be able to find him another inn to run.

Mr. Halliday goes to the Cloverhouse and asks where Saint is, Pat, Toni, Kitty, and Armand all quite shocked. When the shock dies, Mr. Halliday sees Kitty and has her consent to transfer the innkeeping to him, he officializing it. Some of them decide to leave and Mr. Halliday sees the last day Saint was at the Cloverhouse, he deducing motives from those around him at the Helen. He then settles in to wait for Saint's return.

I'll be continuing the next installment, directly. These are so easy to breeze through, and the art supports the mysterious story.
