Armand and Saint arrive back at the Cloverfield and Saint realizes no one else is home, yet. Saint goes to check on Kitty and is surprised by his papa. Saint makes a squeak, then goes back downstairs and informs Armand. Before making their way out, Saint wants to make sure none of the others are in their rooms, and Armand has him focus on them just leaving and coming back before his pop is there.
Unfortunately the more they discuss it, the more it seems like this idea may not work, since Armand wants to avoid a confrontation with Saint's pop since they're meant to have a "bad experience" in the future, and Saint doesn't want to leave the others the responsibility of handling his pop without him. He releases Armand from having to stay whilst he handled his fam issues, but Armand sticks with him for not feeling right about leaving him alone to his pop's designs, so Saint greets his pop from downstairs when he walks into the upstairs hall. The two discuss how Kitty was off with 17 yr old Armand and Patrick and Toni were out as well, and Saint's pop had come back to a Cloverhouse much different than he'd left. Saint's pop is impressed he'd met the Consultant, which leads Saint to asking why his contract was so different than other hosts.
Instead of answering Saint's pop asks who had written in Toni's notebook. Meanwhile Toni and Patrick are eating snack over a bridge as Toni ribs him for having to be out there for an indefinite time because Pat's hiding from his dad, but then Toni gets recognized by a lady with her friend. She then recognizes Pat and asks why he hadn't gone to the reunion, Toni getting suspicious when she sees a pic she remembers taking with Pat there, but in this pic he isn't. Pat reveals the timeline she remembers was split when he'd stepped back inside the Cloverhouse, so the lady remembers the one where he'd stayed in.
Toni gets a little saddened to know Pat wouldn't be able to take a pic with her where it'd stay present, unless it's at the Cloverhouse, and even then it doesn't work the same for him as it would her, someone who isn't a time traveler being called a "steady", since she lives time in order. The four go to the beach to frolic, and Saint has just made a pancake platter for his pop who seems uncertain what he was just given, Armand saying he can give it back if he didn't want it. Saint ofc, offers Armand a new batch as Saint's pop discusses how he thought Saint'd like the 21st century, but understood how complex the Cloverhouse was and the difficulties of being an Innkeeper. Saint has to backtrack as he relates why he'd left the Cloverhouse to see other inns and make his even better, and how his pop hadn't embarrassed him by chasing everyone off, including his replacement innkeeper.
Saint's pop then gets to his point of knowing President Jingtian Demort had been a guest recently and also suspected her husband, of who had created the time travel tech had also been guest, Saint staying upbeat and replying, since his pop's had seen the video, he should know already. Casimir had yet to arrive, so Saint says there was no reason for him to wait, so he could come back when he showed up. End game is, Saint's pop was planning on staying and expected Saint to be there to greet Casimir, and would let Patrick go if he obeyed his wishes. Saint qs whether there was a catch, which his pop's states he'd be benefiting as well, so all he'd need are the visas Patrick had given him to prove he was allowed out and about since he'd completed his training at Biorev and would be released from his duties, Saint's pop would then call on Patrick to take over the legacy when required, which Patrick can then deny if he so chose. Saint must only point Casimir in his direction when he arrived, Saint looking qingly at Armand, before Saint's pop call the Consultant, a convo ensues, and Armand walks away disappointedly as something happens with a time wimey, thing.
Saint's pop decides to stay until Patrick got back with Toni, and they'd get some innkeeping done. Armand shows some sass by demanding Saint's pop leave since he'd already gotten what he'd come for, he being reminded to remember his place. Saint's pop places his hand on Armand's chest, and this prompts him to state he should come clean to Saint about what he'd done to him, taunting him to put him into a timelag. Knowing this pisses off Saint enough to finally tell his pop to leave, his pop popping out of the house like a blip, and leaves Saint wondering where he'd been blipped, the Consultant pointing outside.
Armand panics and urges they hide before Saint's pop can see them, but there's plenty of windows, so Saint says he got seent, but still rushes after Armand who goes thru the kitchen, where more windows were set, to his bedroom, he wondering why his room didn't have any. Then Saint uncovers a secret tunnel behind a table, Armand surprised. Saint is happy to show Armand how it led to the garage which is also his workshop and was currently filled with silkscreen stencils during a phase of making tees, like the one he made Armand. As Saint looks around he realizes how many projects he'd meant to get to, and asked for Armand's help, but would focus on their first task, but since they'd be carrying things, they'd go through the main door and just be careful of the windows.
Saint's distracting himself as Armand attempts to remind him to think about what he'd say to Toni and Pat when they returned. Not until Armand picks him up by the shoulders, does Saint say he was questioning whether trusting his pop with their compromise would yield the best for them all, but he understood his action to agree may not work out, and Armand agrees but states they'd handle it as it came. Meanwhile, as Pat drives Toni back to the Cloverhouse as it rains, he reveals how if his pop does what Saint and he thought and made him heir, he'd change his pop's everything like he'd done with him repeatedly when he was growing up. Then the two see his pop standing outside, and Pat decides to do something drastic, Toni attempting to stop him, but still deciding to hit his pop with the car.
When Pat checks on him, he's still alive and asking if Pat had planned it like this. Pat reveals his pop had become redundant, BioRev nor anyone needed him any longer because they had him. His pop reveals happily how Pat couldn't seem to help himself, since in every timeline, he ended up trying to kill him. His pop starts going into a timelag as Toni is about to approach, Pat shouting for her to stay away, and his pop saying how Pat had nearly done it the same way as before, come to gloat over his body.
When they're in the lag, Pat recognizes how much time he'd spent hating his pop, and his pop says how it didn't matter since he'd always end up merging with whichever dimensions Patrick and integrate with his memories and goals. Pat attempts to resist and claim he'd win out, which his pop allows by saying he always attempted to fight, so they'd see who won this time around. Saint walks outside after he and Armand had heard the crash, to where Toni is frozen and looking shocked, Pat but not Pat saying he'd won and they could leave. He gives his hand to her since she's crouched on the ground, and then asks for Toni and he to be allowed inside at the same time so the time line would stick, but Armand senses it's still Saint and Pat's pop, warning Saint from letting him in.
When Saint begins making more pancakes per Pat-their-Pop's request, he asks where their pop was if they shouldn't believe what they saw, which was the two merging. Pat reveals how he was slowly absorbing their pop's memories, which would allow him to take over BioRev and his plans were definitely not the same as their pop's plans had been for Saint. He then releases Saint from the boundary deal he'd been under with their pop, and he'd avoid confronting the Consultant until he remembered what his pop's relationship with her had been, it being unique, apparently. Then, instead of waiting for the pancakes, Pat remembers he had something to handle at the Helen.
Pat tries to go but Armand has unfinished business with him so decides to follow him to the Helen, Toni also deciding to leave, which Saint then realizes no one wanted more pancakes, now, having a seat in the emptied kitchen.
Time log 5 concludes the last of this series, Armand following Pat/pop, and asks why he hates him so much, Pat saying he annoyed him, but then senses the Consultant could be nearby so gives Armand the ability to go over to his own Pathway. The Consultant arrives and states he'd broken their contract where he wasn't able to change contracts. Pat attempts to lie and say he hadn't altered a contract, which doesn't work and tries to piggyback with Armand to his Pathway. They go to the Helen and it looks a mess.
Kanon is the last one to have stayed in Shanghai, he drinking on a lounge, Pat offering to finally get him out of there, since he'd been bound by his father to stay, and WW2 was around the corner, so Kanon finally agrees to leave. They return to BioRev and Toni asks which year Pat had come from, he being smart and saying to just update his info and it won't matter as they monitor Armand's radiation levels. Pat reinstate's Kanon as his Chief asst, and then reveals he'd been at the Helen as punishment for having a child he wasn't supposed to have, using a woman who had enhanced embryos from another timeline, and being found out. Now he was trying to protect Mei, he not feeling harshly toward the integrated Pat, which he explains why this was to Armand, he having a wonderful life with his child and being his own boss for most of his life, and his punishment being much more severe if having stayed to allow BioRev deal it out.
Pat changes into one of his pop's black coats, and then he runs into his pop, who agrees the jacket looked good on him.
Then the latest comic being the 12 Days of Xmas, which is adorable. Ch. 10 pending, and I'll be here for it, hopefully. Cute series, and I'll continue when it's available.
