Saint for Rent - Consulting the Cat
By Xu Ru

Kitty Cat is 1st shown complaining about how she couldn't find a ride for all the time travelers coming in, and no one else seeming to notice they were popping up. The taxi she was in being unable to time travel her, but all she needing was to get to the Helen, he noting a shortcut coming up. Then Halliday's boy interrupts, deciding to walk to the rift, Kitty Cat insisting on tagging. After warning he isn't like the usual time-traveler, the taxi driver labels her a hitch-hiker, before they both head off, she also learning he didn't always land himself in an inn, which was more normal.
He then seems curious why she was traveling without a visa and didn't seem to be doing so for the normal reasons, he then giving her away to look behind her for seeing something odd. The circular disk like a kaleidoscope which showed a shadow moving. Then, Kitty Cat is trapped inside the room dividing between the Helen and herself, Halliday's b. explaining this happened when a consultant was near. She getting pushed up against the glass and requesting he get the innkeeper.
So, instead, he sends her off to the Cloverhouse, believing the innkeeper'd be able to help her there, despite his willowy build, as she goes on her way, he requesting she give his monocle to him. Older Armand receives the monocle, but leaves to take care of something else, Kitty Cat turns back to human after he leaves to inform his bro, Saint she planned to stay to kick Patrick's asst. who'd gotten her into this. Saint then q's her about what she actually was, she claiming to be a cat, which freaks him out a bit. Kitty Cat has Saint break down what Consultants do for the inn-keepers though, which also gives a lesson on how the time stream worked for humans.
Saint made note how usually Consultants weren't known to be aggressive, but spoke more of the rules, and whatnot. Then, Saint gets run into by Mei, who tells of Unc. Almond having gone time-lag, which he noted wasn't good. Mei starts getting upset when she realizes it could mean harm for Armand, and she wanting to get home back to her pop. Saint rationalizes Armand should be okay since there were older hims knocking about, she calming enough to think he could get her back home, then.
Saint thinking over Armand's predicament since he was stuck in a few seconds worth of time. Without thinking too much about it, Kitty Cat releases the monocle, Saint protesting before shit starts popping off. Kitty Cat is not happy at all with the Consultant who pops up, she getting face to face with it. This is quickly moved across in order to get Armand help, Saint attempting to apologize, but then back-pedaling when the Consultant notes it didn't recollect anything, but would research it if necessary, Saint backing off.
He repeats a grateful thanks, and Mei gives one to Kitty Cat, but she only in it for Armand eventually saving her life from a fall she is going to have. This debacle certainly being a hefty one though, as the Consultant realizes Armand's contract'd been signed by human rather than Consultant. When he releases Armand, who is a bit upset for the runaround upon hearing the Consultant required the human who signed it to be present in order for it to give Armand at least a temp. passport, since he hadn't known the one he'd been traveling with was invalid, Kitty Cat notes how terrible the cust. service was in this process, Saint not jumping on board with this aggro. The Consultant comes up with the compromise of editing another person's passport to help equalize Armand out.
Saint offers up his first, but notes it was for the innhouse, so Kitty Cat makes the offer, as well, but would need the Consultant to build her a passport from scratch, what with requiring one, but she's denied. Then Armand suggests Mei finally get her wish and become a time traveler. It takes her a second to get this would be the chance of a lifetime, so immediately asks cordially and excitedly to be considered. The Consultant declares the girl eligible and she answers the first q of what time travel was, it being her dad's magic elevator.
She also requests no one should be able to get time-lagged when traveling with her, the Consultant making this allowance, and then Mei is sitting with Saint and Armand snacking and talking about where she wanted to go. Kitty Cat then inquires how Mei was eligible and she wasn't, it being proof she existed, and the fact she was there when she shouldn't have been, as well as the fact the Consultant couldn't identify her genetics, Kitty Cat promising she wouldn't make trouble and the Consultant should ignore this curiosity of origin. She then huffily wishing to biff of, as Saint attempts to have her not bully the guests as her taxi drivers, and she should stay for the omelettes about to be had, plus Saint offered up his pop's stuff being at their disposal. Then younger Armand pops in with Patrick.
The warm welcome coming from only Saint. Views into Patrick's childhood being given. This continues to fuel me forward. It's quite an interesting little mystery and I'm enjoying the more I read!
