NeverBoy #4
By Shaun Simon

Drag gets a table inside the non-Diner and after asking about a secret menu, Diner is aware of he being a threat, but Drag makes it clear he's looking to get inspired, so they better show him the doorway. Drag uses his imagination to get the Diner avatars to tie themselves up and hang themselves. Meanwhile, NB is playing with Ben, but he's got to return to Rachel, now. When he mentions Ben's worrisome opinions to Rachel, of she not giving him enough playtime attention, she blows this off, and NB's back to sulking at Vanessa's.
Vanessa encourages NB to get clean, she describing the current state of societies imagination, a humongous elephant currently trudging down the street looking skeletal. She has him tag along with her to meet a client from her work, who might help turn around NB's funk. Drag is currently speaking about his new paintings, he having bound his subj's so he could paint them. After hearing from the art dealer of needing more, Drag becomes resolute on returning to the Diner.
NB is next walking through a semi-familiar landscape when he's recognized by someone who knew Sam, Vanessa then pulling him back and asking if he gets what's happening now, and if he'll help before imagination is destroyed for good. The Diner is closed and imaginary peeps are weakly walking off, 1 pink octopus with cowboy hat being waylaid from meeting his next schedule with a couple kids by Drag, who thinks he'd make a perfect addition to his collection, having him wait. The little boy and girl are readying to leave when octopus comes, but he's looking drained and nothing like what he did, scaring both away to his confusion. Still strong, but these are fairly short issues and not heavy on text, which is certainly fine since it's getting its point across so far. Onward!
