Hawken #6 of 6

At the Red Bird Inn in Yellow Town, Hawken enters to see shot up bodies. When he locates Mary, she's alive enough to say "he's" back. Hawken can't guess who, though and takes a shot outside, Lil saying he'd bulls eyed the mule. When Hawken goes in to where the leftover shipment is, he sees Sombre through the mer-creature's tube, both shooting.

Sombre hits Hawken's hand, and walks closer, Hawken complimenting how Sombre'd grown into the nose his step pappy'd left him. Sombre admits Gallis'd love for Hawken's severed fingers to be in his collection as he eats 1. Sombre reminisces on the 1st time they were in Lapida, and how Mary hadn't snitched on Hawken. Gallis likes his freaks, they fixing everything, Hawken's absence changed the dynamic of the ring.

When they'd located Hawken living with the Apache and had a lady, Sombre had almost felt guilt murdering him. It's what Hawken gets for turning on his whities though! Before Sombre can take his final shot, the mercreature starts moving in his hand, diving and biting his face. Hawken takes his shot and Sombre gets hit with the lye behind him.

The other ghosts then point out Mary is still alive, and doesn't deserve to avoid the fate of Hawken killing her. Hawken lets Mary come to and give her the chance to chat. Mary explains doing this for Wu Lung and her community, Sombre reentering and urging Hawken to kill her, already. Hawken refuses as Gallis gets a letter from an army commander regarding his sloppy business ethic, and would be chatting with him in person.

Hawken is ordering Mary's men to bury her properly as Lil asks why he'd allow another woman to die and watch as it happened. Hawken confesses Mary'd been correct about his role in getting her and Wu Lung involved, so let her loose. He readies to ride on to deal with Gallis with Caramba following.

Great conclusion, but ofc wish we had the death of Gallis among the bunch! It cleans up nice, and it's entertaining af, so if it can be found, READ!
