Eyeball Kid #2

By Eddie Campbell

The story picks up where it left off in the previous issue, EK is struggling to return to his feet. The monk lady gives support to EK as Argyron is nearly turned invisible for the helmet, and Hermes helps them out. As EK races back toward the house with the plan of raiding their fridge, the 2 other bros learn the helmet doesn't mask Argyron's blood when spilt, he getting run over by a lawnmower by one of his bros. Chaloon is shooting the place up from outside as EK and monk chick raid the kitchen.

When they're stocked up, and leaving, EK has the notion to make his retirement money from using the Stygian leech. After a stand up show, EK goes to the dressing room, and as he cleans the mirror, he falls through, and inquires of different looking EK's how to get out, the answer sounding too much like a riddle for the fella. The EKs relate of having attempted to agree on the next chairman of the brain trust, so wish to get EK's vote. So, now EK listens as each brings the reason for EK to vote for him, 1 even advising EK to be his sidekick, and he'd learn the kiss of death.

Then, he sees a dark entrance with light particles saying it was still EK, and it could still be a potential future self, which he explains. This dead EK stems from the main 1, so Zeus' power had kept his personalities together, but now it was possible for current EK to become reabsorbed, and share his bod. Fortunately, possible future EK makes it easy for him to locate the way he'd come, getting out as one EK stares out at him, as he gets the call to get back on stage in a couple mins. EK is onstage again, and struggles to remember his poem lines, it being about learning to use the Stygian leech to understand what men and gods were.

EK points the finger at the Stygian leech as cause for Zeus' death, and as EK stares down the quiet leech, it sucks him into it, as with all the powers the Telchines had acquired, and EK declares a fight to the death, his body prone on the floor. At the very least, EK is surrounded by interesting enough characters, but his dialogue clonks a bit for cleverly using the wrong words sound like the right ones. I'll read the next if I find it!
