Eyeball Kid #1

By Eddie Campbell

Eyeball Kid is feeling a bit slighted, so reminds he'd murdered Zeus. He talks about first not having a point to live til he remembers revenge. He then goes over how he stays focused on picking up and delivering packages for decent cash. EK then starts with his background, his pop Argus, and how he'd been killed by Hermes, EK having an affair with Hera, and Zeus frying her.

Then, EK tricks Zeus into getting drunk, having changed into Ganymede, and gets him to ok a bit of power, next using it to kill him, which made EK the powerful God. EK has nearly snuffed all the gods, but Hermes is still on his list. EK joins forces with Theseus, so he can get his power of immortality, disposing him the same way as Zeus, but had more affection for. The Telchines Bros knock him down a peg by slurping out his powers.

So, he sends them an assortment of literal shit through the mail when he becomes incensed. The Telchines Bros response to this is to gift it to the gardners. The 2 bros, Chryson and Chaloon discuss how they'd fuck with EK more by getting him caught up in consumerism, so he'd forget what his goal is. When they set up a meeting with their shareholders, they tell their other strength is their bro Argyron has Hades' helmet of invisibility, as well as Zeus' thunderbolt.

Meanwhile, EK's rushing around and is noticed by a monk-like lady philosophizing, and providing EK with a couple days food and board, as Hermes is visited by U.S. Customs by ship. Hermes spots EK rushing around the city as he flies above him. He decides to head back to handle bribing customs, then back to gathering the dead who escaped hell. The Telchines Bros bring a smile to Hermes' face, their shenanigans in his wheelhouse.

The young monk snaps EK back to present, and suggests they meditate til EK feels his task doesn't matter, this being when he'd be ready. The Telchines Bros meanwhile, are going over updates, and hears EK had stopped pestering them, making 1 bro suspicious of bad tidings. The monk leads EK to her mentor, Chalcon, his bro kicking his ass, literally as EK regrets not being suspicious earlier.

Not a bad start, but I get why people tend to prefer Deadface. EK makes for good sidekick material, but is trying to listen to constantly. Start with Deadface, if possible!
